Job description:
MTX Excavation is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. We are a locally owned excavation company that takes pride in delivering quality work across residential, commercial, and municipal projects.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders.
Perform daily inspections and basic upkeep of equipment.
Troubleshoot and address equipment issues as needed.
Maintain awareness of the job site, anticipate next steps, and take initiative rather than waiting for direction.
Work closely with the project superintendent and crew to ensure efficient and safe site operations.
Follow all safety standards and company procedures.
Use GPS equipment (preferred but not required).
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating equipment in excavation or related construction fields.
General knowledge of equipment care and preventative maintenance.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on the job site.
Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus.
